VIET CONG At the conclusion of hostilities between the French and the Viet Minh in 1954 and in accordance with the treaty, all Communists were supposed to move into North Vietnam. Non-Communists in the north regrouped in the south. The Viet Minh organization, which initially contained both Communist and non-Communist patriots united to achieve Vietnam’s independence, was dissolved.

The most famous examples of his tyranny were the series of purges in the 1930s, in which Stalin had executed almost all of the top and senior officers in the army and many rival political leaders.
